The Origin Story

A game born in a basement during lockdown.

When the world shut down in 2020, the Manabala Family turned their basement into a sports arena. Armed with a soft foam ball, a cricket bat, a baseball bat, and 20 feet of floor space, they invented CricBall.

The rules emerged over days of playing — safety zones, wall scoring, wickets and overs, choosing your own bat. Everything that makes CricBall work was discovered through play, not theory.

Fast, strategic, and playable in any rectangular space from 12 feet, CricBall is a sport that belongs to every family.

Hard to master.

🏏

Equipment

Choose your weapon every innings — baseball bat or cricket bat. Soft, lightweight indoor ball only (e.g. foam ball or tennis ball).

Pitching

Any delivery style — underarm, sidearm, or overarm. Pitcher bowls from a fixed agreed spot.

  • No-Ball: hits batter above waist → 1 run + Free Hit
  • Wide: outside reach → 1 run, no dismissal
  • Both are illegal — must be rebowled
📋

Innings

Cricket-style. Each team bats once. Wickets = player count. Overs = 2× player count per side.

  • Innings ends when all wickets fall or overs are up
  • No running between ends

Dismissals

Three ways to lose your wicket:

  • Caught — ball stays airborne to the fielder
  • Strikeout — 3 swing-and-miss strikes
  • Bowled — ball hits the stump markers on the wall
👥

Teams & Fielding

Max 1 pitcher + 2 fielders on the field at any time.

  • 2v2: everyone on the field each side
  • 3v3+: pitching team does all fielding
  • Odd players: Gully Cricket shared batter rule
🏆

Winning

Most runs after both innings wins. Tied? Super Over — 1 over, 1 wicket each. Still level? Sudden death single ball.
